Parliamentary Commission on Banking Standards - Written evidence from the BBA

23 Aug 2012

The British Bankers' Association (BBA) welcomes the opportunity to make this written submission in response to the initial call for evidence issued on 26th July by the Parliamentary Commission on Banking Standards.

The remit of the Commission is to consider and report upon: the professional standards and culture of the UK banking sector, taking account of regulatory and competition investigations into the LIBOR rate-setting process; the lessons to be learnt about corporate governance, transparency and conflicts of interest, and their implications for regulation and Government policy; and to make recommendations for legislative and other action.
